Welcome back from March Break!!

Math
-Introduction to Cartesian Coordinate System
-Practiced ordered pairs in class by playing Battleship

Geography
-Analyzed photos taken from the book "What the World Eats".  Photos were taken of families around the world, showing what the family eats in one week.
-Students were asked to note what they noticed about each picture, and any questions they had.  This was followed by a class discussion.

Language
-Procedural writing was handed back, with comments.  We will work on good copies tomorrow.
-Re-read the Third Gift.  Finish questions #1 - 3 for tomorrow.

- Research more on the Hydraulic system vs. Pneumatic system

On Monday March 5 2012 Class 8D is going to 200 Dawes Road senior home.

On Wednesday March 7 2012 Class 8D is not going to the spaghetti factory, so instead we will stay for lunch and order pizza, but we will still go to the theatre to watch "The Neverending Story".  $5 will be returned.

An important letter went home today regarding an inter-generational program between 8D and True Davidson Acres Nursing Home.

-Discussed "Something Beautiful" questions

-Mapping of various countries.  Collected in class.

Mathematics
-Practice angle relationships.  Pg. 309 #6, 7, 8, 9.  Quiz on Friday.

Thursday, Feb 16th

-Worked on BitStrips about beliefs.  Submit by computer by Tuesday.

Geography
-Where in the World mapping activity.  Will be collected at the end of class period on Tuesday.

Math
-Practice Pg 305-306 #1-4.  Quiz on Wednesday or Thursday.
